Walking the Halls of Parliament to Support the Creative Future of the South West
We stepped away from our usual creative chaos at Walker HQ and took a side quest to somewhere slightly more… historic, the Palace of Westminster.
We were proud to represent the agency as well as the wider Bournemouth creative community at the launch of the Creative Industries in the Great South West report, held in the House of Commons. The event brought together industry leaders, MPs, and universities to spotlight the incredible talent, growth, and potential of the creative sector across the South West.

The numbers really speak for themselves:
– 4.1% job growth in the region’s creative industries since 2019
– 35,000 people currently working in the sector
– 14% of UK service exports come from the creative industries
On a national level, the creative industries are now growing at almost twice the rate of the wider economy, employing 2.4 million people and accounting for 7.1% of all UK jobs. It’s a powerful reminder of the sector’s value both culturally and economically.

As a creative agency rooted in Bournemouth, we work closely with the next generation of talent emerging from places like Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth, so it was especially meaningful to be part of the conversation around how we continue to support, grow, and invest in this vibrant sector.
A huge thank you to Great South West, Falmouth University, and Jayne Kirkham MP for the opportunity... Oh, and yes, they do let people wearing Snoopy ties into Parliament.
